Engineering Manager of Zignal Labs (México)
Zignal Labs is a SaaS-based media intelligence software service that serves the marketing and public relations department.
I was hired as the full-stack tech lead for the Mexico engineering team. Zignal Labs was one of the most challenging projects, as it involved working with multiple repositories in parallel and numerous internal packages. I was responsible for delivering new widgets to the platform that required development in the system design, API, UI, widgets package, and data areas.
Besides my web development duties, I monitored the team to make sure they were unblocked, and they were delivering the right solution. I helped lead and train the new Mexico team hires to get them onboard into the project as fast as possible.
In the annual "Innovation Projects" contest, I led the team to win 1st place among 25 participants who created five innovative projects for improving Zignal Labs. The winning project included a simple API to be used internally in the widgets to easily make them public, so they can be embedded into any external source the client might be interested in.
Responsibilities
- Onboard and train Mexico engineers.
- Customer Support Triage.
- Develop new features from scratch.
- Monitor the Mexico team and unblock them as needed.
- Regular 1:1 meetings with the Mexico team.
